Communities in MSIport.com

MSI portal offers home and visibility to communities active in materials chemistry. Presently it hosts the "Materials Science International Team" (MSIT) - global network of experts in materials constitution and the experimental & computer thermodynamics of materials.

      FRIDAY, 07.05.2021 (till lunch)

      • Group work* on crtical evaluatio of phase diagram data
      • Closing and Summary of the MSIT Workshop

      * A unique and exciting aspect to the MSIT Winter School is that runs in parallel with the Annual MSIT Workshop on Heterogeneous Multicomponent Equilibria. Therefore we offer a possibility for the delegates to be involved in the group work (on critical evaluation of constitutional data) after the Winter School has finished.
      How it works:

small groups of 3-5 scientists write together critical evaluation of data on phase diagrams of a particular system. The literature for evaluation and working infrastructure are provided by MSI. In the group work there is always a knowledge transfer from the senior scientists experienced in the evaluation work to the younger scientists. The Guidelines for Critical Evaluation you can see here.

For the people joining the group on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning this is an opportunity to interact with the Groups more closely, to learn how the MSIT works, to learn how to evaluate phase diagram data and eventually to leave with one citable peer-reviewed publication - together with the other members of the group.
In the Registration Form you will find a check-box to select this opportunity, at no additional conference fee.
