The 11th MSIT Winter School will take place from 14–19 February 2027 at Castle Ringberg, the spiritual home of MSIT®, located in the Bavarian Alps on the shores of Lake Tegernsee, Germany. The event is recognized as a leading materials science winter school in Europe.
The MSIT Winter School 2027 is an advanced, application-oriented training programme in materials science and materials chemistry, focusing on the fundamental and computational principles governing phase equilibria in solid-state inorganic materials.
Widely known as a specialist phase diagram and thermodynamics course in Germany and Europe, the Winter School combines scientific depth with hands-on learning in modern materials research, computational materials science, and materials development.
The course emphasizes the application of these methods in modern materials research and development.
The programme of this course combines theory, computation and practical application in an integrated training format.
Participants will also join the MSIT Workshop on Critical Evaluation of Heterogeneous Phase Equilibria and learn in practice how to perform critical evaluation of materials constitutional data, which represents a core expertise of MSIT.
This workshop provides hands-on training in the assessment, validation and application of thermodynamic and phase diagram data.
The 11th edition builds on previous years and further deepens scientific content and application-oriented training.
Participation is limited to ensure high-quality training.
