Habilitation successfully completed! Congratulations, Dr.-Ing. habil. Mario J. Kriegel!

Our longtime MSIT^® member, Dr. Mario J. Kriegel (Research Associate at the Institute of Materials Science, TU Bergakademie Freiberg), has successfully completed his habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification). His habilitation thesis is entitled “Thermodynamic Modeling of Metallic Systems under Complex Conditions” and devoted to Fe-based shape memory alloys and Ti-based materials alloyed with iron. In his comprehensive study, he focuses on developing thermodynamic CalPhaD databases based on literature and complementary experimental data. It has been shown that thermodynamic calculations can provide valuable insights for a better understanding of the material behavior.
