The whole MSIT® warmly congratulates its young member on earning the well-deserved title of Doctor. Danilo Alencar de Abreu defended his PhD thesis summa cum laude at Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg. This significant achievement is a testament to your dedication, hard work, and intellectual rigor throughout your doctoral journey.
His dissertation, entitled “Development of thermodynamic database for the Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2–MnOx system: application for Li recycling”, was conducted as part of Priority Program 2315 of the German Research Foundation, 'Engineered Artificial Minerals (EnAM)', aiming to develop a thermodynamic database for modeling of Li-recycling.
This research significantly contributes to understanding the phase relations in the selected subsystems within the Li2O–Al2O3–SiO2–MnOx systems. The experimental findings, including phase equilibria data and heat capacities for LiAl5O8, LiAlO2, Li8SiO6 and LiMnO2, along with available earlier information, have become a basis for the developed thermodynamic database. This database is of significant importance for further progress in Li-recycling.
We also express our sincere congratulations to Danilo’s supervisor and our esteemed MSIT® member – PD Dr. Dr. rer. nat. habil. Olga Fabrichnaya from Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg – for her exceptional mentorship. We deeply appreciate your ongoing commitment to sharing your expertise in phase diagrams and thermodynamics with your students, especially in such a complex field as oxides.
The whole MSIT® wishes Danilo continued success and fulfillment in all his future pursuits. Your accomplishment is truly commendable and sets a strong foundation for your future academic and professional endeavors.
