MSIT Winter School

MSIT Winter Schools comprise lectures given by the MSIT members and invited experts on Phase diagrams, Classical and Computational Thermodynamics, and Crystallography and related applicational topics.

MSIT Winter SchoolSeminar on RE Materials & Magnet Technology

MSIT Winter School on Materials Chemistry  comprised lectures given by experts within the MSIT network on Phase Equilibria, Classical and Computational Thermodynamics, and Crystallography. The aim of the Winter Schools is to provide the opportunity to learn the techniques that are important in understanding phase equilibria, thermodynamics and closely associated subjects. The School is aimed at Materials Scientists of all levels; from R&D researchers from industries, Post Doctoral scientists to Postgraduate students.

The MSIT Seminar on Rare-Earth Materials & Magnet Technology is a unique opportunity for professionals in management and technology to learn about the complete supply chain of magnetic materials: resources of RE ores, mining, concentration, separating and transforming to RE oxides and metals, alloying to magnet powders and processing to all types of magnets. The Seminars are intended for business and technology managers and employees from various industries in the supply chains of industries of permanent magnet productions and application markets.

MSIT Advanced SchoolMSIT Annual Workshop

The aim of 'The MSIT Advanced Schools' is to take an important topic, or two closely related topics, in Materials Science and give training to a much higher level than is offered at our annual Winter School. The 'MSIT Advanced Schools' are aimed at materials scientists who may be already familiar with the subject but are looking for a deeper understanding, e.g. R&D researchers from industries, Post Doctoral scientists and Postgraduate students.

For over 39 years, MSIT experts have been involved in a programme of critical evaluation of constitutional data and phase diagrams that has resulted in the publication of a series of over 63 printed volumes and an electronic knowledgebase, MSI Eureka. The Workshops comprise usual group work and presentations by participants. Registration is open for the MSIT members.
