Lazar Leonovich Rokhlin

We deeply regret to inform you of the passing of Lazar Leonovich Rokhlin on October 13^th this year, at the age of 90.
Lazar's association with MSIT spanned several decades, dating back to approximately 1990. His contributions to MSIT publications were nothing short of remarkable, with a total of 286 evaluation reports published in the MSI Eureka database. Notably, he served as the editor in chief for volume 16 of the Ternary Alloys book series. While we've highlighted his contributions to MSI, it's important to acknowledge his other invaluable works on phase diagrams of Magnesium alloys, which continue to be instrumental in the field of materials constitution.

Lazar was not only a distinguished scientist with a profound vision but also a true gentleman. His kindness and support were extended to all those who had the privilege of working with him. Lazar's absence leaves a void in the 'Phase Diagram and Thermodynamics' community, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
